7 November 2016 – Markon Solutions, a project management consulting firm, was selected to provide construction management support for the National Park Service. The construction management services will support restoration and rehabilitation projects, security facility projects, as well as utility and structural repair projects.

The five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement includes oversight, construction management, on-site/special inspection, contract administration, and administrative services. Markon will support NPS in managing multiple projects in Washington, DC performed by various contractors.

9 February 2016 – Markon Solutions, a project management consulting firm, was ranked third in the 2016 Best Places to Work in Virginia Medium Employer Category. This is Markon’s third year of being ranked on the list.

The annual list of the Best Places to Work in Virginia was created by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group. This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state’s economy, workforce, and businesses.

The 2016 Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of 100 companies from across the state. Rankings are based on a two-part survey, which evaluates each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, demographics, and the employee experience.

4 February 2016 – Markon Solutions, a project management consulting firm, named Matt Slingwine a Vice President. He is responsible for overall customer satisfaction, employee and contract health, and portfolio growth with a focus on the intelligence community.

Since joining Markon in 2009, Mr. Slingwine led multiple contract engagements for the firm including financial, facilities, strategy/governance, and program management efforts. Mr. Slingwine leads with a focus on bringing innovative management strategies to the client and a passion for growing internal talent for future leadership opportunities within the firm.

Mr. Slingwine’s 16-year career includes leading teams on projects totaling over $100M annually with two of the nation’s largest building firms. Mr. Slingwine received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Grove City College Pennsylvania majoring in Financial Management. He is a Project Management Institute (PMI)-certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified SCRUMMaster (CSM), Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and holds the ITIL V3 Foundations Certification.
