5 November 2013 – Markon was named one of 2014’s Best Places to Work in Virginia. A ranking of the Best Places to Work in Virginia will be published in the February 2014 issue of Virginia Business.

16 May 2013 – Markon was awarded a Prime Contract to provide support to the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s (MCC) leasing project initiative. Markon will provide stakeholder engagement, project management, and change management support. MCC, an innovative and independent US foreign aid agency, supports threshold programs and compacts in more than 40 countries. Created in 2004, MCC employs just over 350 staff and professional service employees (PSEs).

7 May 2013 – Two Markon employees attended the annual Construction Management Association of America’s (CMAA) Leadership Conference in New Orleans, LA. CMAA is the premier organization in the US for Program and Construction Management. CMAA is North America’s only organization dedicated exclusively to the interests of the professional Construction and Program management industry. On behalf of its 28 regional chapters and more than 8,000 public and private firms and individuals throughout the nation, CMAA promotes the Construction Management industry and provides professional resources, advocacy, professional development, certification, and business opportunities to its members. CMAA’s national headquarters is located in McLean, VA.

25 April 2013 – For the second year in a row, Markon Solutions was recognized in the top twenty on the Virginia Chamber of Commerce FANTASTIC 50 list, landing at number sixteen. The Virginia Chamber announced the names of fifty of the fastest growing Virginia companies at the eighteenth annual Virginia’s FANTASTIC 50 Awards Banquet at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly. Nearly 500 attendees at the ceremony saluted the winners for their entrepreneurial success and contribution to Virginia’s economy.

11 April 2013 – Markon Solutions was awarded a second task order win under its Department of State IDIQ to provide engineering to support.

26 March 2013 – Markon Solutions was awarded its first task order win under its Department of State IDIQ to provide mechanical engineering support.

11 February 2013 – On February 11th, Markon Solutions was awarded a Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for Program Management and Engineering Services in support of the Office of Construction Management’s diplomatic construction projects worldwide.

02 January 2013 – On December 21st, Markon Solutions was awarded a prime US Marine Corps Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for Omnibus Program Engineering and Technical Support (JPEO-CBD OPETS). Markon will leverage its proven record in providing quality support and maintaining the company’s commitment to hiring and maintaining a talented professional workforce in support of the JPEO-CBD.
