12 December 2012 – Malav Patel was named the Markon Employee of the Year for 2012. Markon President, Matt Dean, made the announcement during Markon’s annual Holiday Party held at at the Omni Shoreham hotel in Washington DC. Malav has been a Markon employee since 2010. Since then, Malav has been supporting Front Office operations and was recently promoted to Director of Operations. In the 2012 Employee Award nomination process, Malav was routinely lauded by his peers for excellence in customer service and for simply making Markon a great place to work. Congratulations Malav!
18 October 2012 – Eleven Markon employees attended the NeoCon East Conference in Baltimore. Our design professionals used this opportunity to preview upcoming designs and follow trends in the commercial design industry. NeoCon East is recognized as the leading design exposition and conference on the East Coast for the A&D community, specializing in showcasing products on the GSA schedule. NeoCon East
5 October 2012 Markon Solutions was awarded a contract from Eckhart and Associates to develop a Technical Manual for their Powertrain Reluctor Ring Project. Markon’s subject matter experts will develop the commercial manual to be delivered to General Motors along with the Eckhart developed equipment. Eckhart and Associates is a specialized engineering tooling company serving the US automotive industry.
16 September 2012 – Markon sponsored the Falls Church Run for the Schools in support of our local community. Thirty-five Markon employees ran to raise money for the Falls Church Education Foundation, an organization which supports current as well as future educational programming in Falls Church public schools. 11-13 June 2012 – In June of 2012, two Markon employees traveled to Chicago to attend NeoCon-the largest conference and design exposition in the United States for commercial interiors. Our employees previewed office design showcases and upon their return briefed other Markon design professionals on upcoming trends and the latest designs. NeoCon
31 March 2012 – Markon Senior Associate, Jim Turner, presented his work, the “New Leader’s Guide to a High-Performing Facilities Organization” at the National Facilities Management & Technology Conference/Exposition in Baltimore in March of 2012. Jim discussed topics like onboarding the new facilities leader and outlined a five-step maturity model to measure the progress of facilities leaders in their roles. When Jim returned he also briefed his fellow Markon facilities managers on the same topic.
