2 February 2017 – Markon Solutions Named Best Place to Work in Virginia

Markon Solutions, a project management consulting firm, was named one of the Best Places to Work in Virginia for the fourth consecutive year. Markon ranked #11 on the list in the Medium Employer Category.

30 January 2017 – Markon Solutions Names Steve Genn and Kyle Werking Vice Presidents

Markon Solutions, a project management consulting firm, named two new vice presidents—Steve Genn and Kyle Werking.

Mr. Genn leads client delivery and portfolio growth for U.S. Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs clients. He is accountable for his team’s professional growth and development, client satisfaction, and portfolio growth.

Since joining Markon in 2012, Mr. Genn has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities in managing his portfolio. He co-created and continues to co-lead Markon’s Leadership Development Program to grow the next generation of leaders.

Mr. Genn’s military career includes service as an active duty Air Force Air Battle Manager, during which he flew missions in Desert Storm. He retired as a Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. Mr. Genn received his MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a BA from Louisiana State University. He also holds the Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential.

 

Kyle Werking, Vice President

Kyle Werking, Vice President

Mr. Werking manages all contracts with U.S. civilian government departments/agencies. He is responsible for client satisfaction, portfolio maturity, and developing new opportunities. Mr. Werking has been with Markon since it was founded in 2007 and has worked in some capacity in every one of Markon’s portfolios.

With 15 years of civilian experience, he has successfully delivered design and construction projects for multiple government agencies and successfully served as owner’s representative for a $200 million 16-acre project. While in the U.S. Army, Mr. Werking served five years as an armor officer. He earned his BS in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

“Both Kyle and Steve have been instrumental in helping Markon grow into new markets and further develop our internal processes and procedures,” states Matt Dean, President of Markon. “We are excited to have them on the leadership team and can’t wait to see what they accomplish in 2017.”

 

24 January 2017 – Markon Solutions Awarded Project Management Contract for USTDA Headquarters Relocation

Markon Solutions, a project management consulting firm, was awarded the prime contract to oversee the U.S. Trade and Development Agency headquarters relocation. Markon will support the seamless move of over 100 employees and contractors that are moving from their current location in Arlington, VA to a new leased location in the National Capital Region.

Markon is providing owner’s representative support during planning, procurement, design, construction, and tenant move-in. Throughout the move process, Markon will work with the government to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions.

“We are excited and honored to support USTDA’s headquarters relocation initiative,” states Kyle Werking, Director, Civilian Portfolio. “We look forward to tackling the unique challenges of this project and delivering a seamless transition to the new facility.”
