22 Mar Deltek Conversion

In February and March, members of the Operations team from Markon were busy in training sessions for our upcoming accounting system transition from GCS to CostPoint.  The CostPoint Migration project is one of the largest tasks to-date for the Markon Operations team and will assist in our goals of making long-term corporate investments and enhancing employee tools.

The following training courses were taken:

  • Touchpoints for GCS Migration
  • Fundamentals for GCS Migration
  • Project Setup for GCS migration to Costpoint Cloud
  • Project Setup – Revenue and Ceilings for GCS migration to Costpoint Cloud
  • Project Setup – Time and Material Setup for GCS migration to Costpoint Cloud
  • CER – Workspace Advanced

Markon attendees included Sharon Lizama, Chirine Dhehibi, Maddie Pagdanganan, Tom Waltrip, Emily Porter, Ray Carney, and Nhu Phan.

Our CostPoint migration is expected to kick-off with our consulting team WJ Technologies, LLC in April and are looking towards a July conversion.

Ray Carney

Ray Carney is Vice President of Operations and oversees the development of Markon’s corporate infrastructure to support growth. He also leads the Commercial Portfolio for Markon Solutions including all new and existing non-government clients. His responsibilities include client satisfaction, market maturity, and developing new opportunities. Mr. Carney’s areas of expertise include leadership, sustainable design, workplace strategy and modification, design thinking, data centers, and creating secure environments. Since joining Markon in 2007, Mr. Carney has run numerous internal program strategies, capture efforts, and client engagements. Mr. Carney has successfully delivered design and construction projects for multiple government agencies including the DIA, ODNI, CIA, FBI, DoD, and DOJ. For example, Mr. Carney provided cradle-to-grave project management support for the successful design and build of secure facilities. He also is the chair of the Markon Solutions’ Leadership Development Program. Prior to joining Markon, Mr. Carney consulted for Andersen, KPMG Consulting, Crowe Chizek, and BearingPoint. He received his MBA with a concentration in Leadership and Finance from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor’s degree in Management with a concentration in Business Technology from John Carroll University. Mr. Carney is a Project Management Institute (PMI)-certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Six-Sigma certified Yellow Belt, a certified SCRUMMaster, a LEED Green Associate, a Sun Certified Java Programmer, and holds both ITIL v3 Foundations and Quality Management certifications.
