17 Nov Markon Leadership Development Program – Trust and Influence
On November 14th, the Markon Leadership Development Program (LDP) met with The Clearing’s Jen Vanmeter and Betsy Emmons who led the group on the topics of Trust and Influence. Jen highly recommended the book The Trusted Advisor Field Book by Charles Green and Andrea Howe which has a definition of trust of Credibility, Reliability, and Intimacy scaled by Self-Orientation. Jen outfitted our group with the following Primes: Trust, Breach, Control, and Stake.
This is our fourth and final session led by Jen for this year’s LDP. Jen has been an amazing partner (see partnership photo below with Ray Carney, LDP Chair) throughout the LDP 2015 session and has been instrumental in the growth of the group. A huge thank you to Jen and Betsy for their help and guidance. In January, the LDP will have our Capstone session with The Clearing founder Chris MacGoff.
In the afternoon, Steve Genn led a session on Behavioral Interviewing where the team went through a couple of mock interviews to enhance their interviewing skills. Steve demonstrated for the group how to quickly identify key traits that you are looking for in a candidate.
The LDP continues to meet our purpose of developing Markon’s emerging leaders as the 2015 LDP group develops their leadership skills.
