29 Apr Markon Rockin the Red
This past Thursday night was another great team event for Markon. About 40 Markon employees and a few guests enjoyed box seats at the Verizon Center to cheer on our home town Washington Capitals. This is the second year in a row we have gone to a Capitals game as a group. It continues a great tradition of sponsoring Markon team events like attending local sports events, dining out at restaurants, and participating in charity projects. This evening was a good example of how our clients ultimately benefit from our company culture. There was little talk of business but many conversations about hockey, football, families, hobbies etc. Markon’s vision is to provide a path to success for our employees and our clients while maintaining our small business culture. Our vision purposefully puts “our employees” ahead of “our clients” because I strongly believe that if you care for your employees, your employees will do wonders for your clients. Getting together on a Thursday night at a hockey game supports all three areas of our vision (success for employees, success for clients, maintaining our small business culture). Success for our employees has a very broad definition from the basics of good pay, training, and challenging work to company organized events that promote social interaction. This broad definition of success helps characterize our small business culture. Talented, dedicated professionals want to be part of a culture that looks out for their best interests, which is why our clients benefit so much. Our clients are being supported by the best and brightest in the industry and Markon is very happy to have them on our side.
